What is North Wales Wing Chun/Ving Tsun
North Wales Wing Chun is part of the Ching Mo family whose head is Master Billy Davidson. Ching Mo is a registered member of the Ving Tsun Athletic Association. Dave McQuillan is the senior representative of Ching Mo in Wales and an internationally recognised instructor.
Wing Chun is personal expression, to make Wing Chun your own you need access to all aspects of the system so that you can truly make it a part of you. Wing Chun should be pure, at Ching Mo we pass on authentically Grandmaster Ip Man Wing Chun as developed by his two sons Grandmaster Ip Ching and Grandmaster Ip Chun this has been made possible by the hard work and dedication to the system of Master Billy Davidson.
We train in a friendly, relaxed, informal, yet hard working environment so that walls can be broken down and people are encouraged to question everything. Ask a question (maybe) appear a fool for a minute, don’t ask a question remain a fool for a lifetime.
Classes are kept fairly informal so that we can teach traditionally, the emphasis is on turning out high quality students that are pushed to work and develop to their natural ability. This involves lots of hard work and time as this is truly Kung Fu. We use the guidance given by Grandmaster Ip Ching on the speed for this.
“Force your students to learn to their ability”
A teacher is not judged by how good he is, but by how good his students are. Tell me and I will forget, show me and I will remember, teach me and I will learn.”
